Jodie Foster is one proud wife!
The Nyad actress, 61, sang the praises of her spouse of nearly 10 years, photographer and filmmaker Alexandra “Alex” Hedison, on Wednesday’s episode of the Today show. Hedison is gearing up to premiere her nonfiction short film ALOK on Thursday at the Sundance Film Festival.
According to the festival’s website, the film (directed by Hedison, 54) is “a compelling portrait of Alok Vaid-Menon, acclaimed nonbinary author, poet, comedian and public speaker,” and is executive produced by Foster.

Asked what she is most proud of in terms of her wife’s new project, Foster told Hoda Kotb on Wednesday, “Alex and ALOK are part of making people better instead of worse.”
“I think it’s about freedom and being your best self and being free, and I have a lot to learn from it, so I’m excited for her,” continued the two-time Oscar winner.
“And I can’t wait to be there by her side and to have it not be about me,” Foster said.
Hedison and Foster married after a year of dating in April 2014 in a top-secret ceremony, which friends of the newlyweds said is just their style.
As a source told PEOPLE at the time, “They are very private when they’re around people they don’t know. But when they’re together, it can be like they’re in their own world.”

Though the couple mostly keep details about their relationship private, Hedison gave a sweet shout-out to Foster for her most recent birthday, sharing a photo of her wife smiling with a birthday cake. “Loving you is easy as cake. Happy birthday, beautiful ❤️,” read the caption.
When Foster was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in 2021, Hedison shared a photo of herself taking a picture of the actress on Instagram next to the caption, “What happens in quarantine stays in quarantine.”
“Every day I’m a proud wife but today you get a special shout out in the remote land of IG,” she added.
