Jake Paul Reveals Earnings For Mike Tyson Fight As Boxing Star Hits Back At Those Who Called Him”YouTube And Disney Kid”
The 27-year-old and Tyson spoke to the media on Sunday for the first time since their bout was rescheduled, having originally been set to take place on July 20. Paul was asked if his fight with Tyson was intended to lend credibility to his boxing career, with many unhappy that the showdown is going ahead.
There is a huge 31-year age gap between the two men, with Tyson’s last professional fight coming all the way back in 2005. Paul then revealed that he’s in line to earn a massive $40m from the contest. He also says Tyson was the one who wanted the fight to be a professional one, rather than an exhibition.
“I didn’t bring him to do s**t; I’m here to make $40million and knock out a legend I don’t give a f**k about anything else,” he boasted.
“He’s the one who wanted it to be a pro fight and he’s going to get his ass knocked out for real.”
During his younger years, Paul would appear on the Disney Channel. But he’s clearly fed up at being known as a ‘Disney kid’ and ‘YouTuber’, with the 27-year-old adding: “You’re going to see on his record; Jake Paul KOs Mike Tyson.
“I’m not here to do s**t except make a bag.
“Every time fighters sit across from me and it’s ‘YouTuber this and Disney kid that’ and they end up on the canvas… this is going to be no different.
“I brought this deal to this old ass motherf****r, we signed the contract with Netflix and we brought him the deal.
“You’re welcome my son.”
While Paul is a divisive figure in the world of boxing, he’s done well throughout his career so far. He has 11 professional fights to his name, with his defeat to Tommy Fury last year the only time he’s failed to come out on top.
Paul was heckled by those in attendance at the press conference – but the 27-year-old says that only fuels his desire to win.
“If I was walking on water, they would say it’s because I couldn’t swim,” he said.
“The people think I’m going to get knocked out by this strong, powerful guy.
“All the people in my comments say, ‘look at his power. He’s going to get KO’d’ … [but] I’m here to fight one of the most dangerous men in all boxing.
“He’s vicious. He’s a killer. He has one-punch knockout power. He’s the greatest heavyweight of all time. But I will prove all the haters wrong.”
He continued: “People are yelling at me in the event, but what happens when I put this man to sleep?
“He’s saying that it’s going to be my funeral. he’s saying it’s going to be my wake. He’s going to kill Jake Paul. All of these things, and that’s why I love Mike.
“I respect him, but we’re not friends any more until November 15th.”
