Belal Muhammad

UFC 304 turned out to be a historic day for Belal Muhammad. His unanimous decision win against Leon Edwards earned him his first UFC title. But that’s not all. Snatching the welterweight title from ‘Rocky’ also earned the fighter the moniker ‘Remember The Name’, a unique feat in the MMA promotion’s history.

Muhammad became the first fighter of Palestinian origin to win a UFC title. Although he was born and raised in Chicago, America, his parents hailed from Palestine.

After winning his bout against ‘Rocky,’ the 36-year-old dedicated his victory to Palestinians. He said, “This is for my people in Palestine. They’re fighting the real fight.”

It is quite evident that Muhammad praises his Palestinian origin. And why not? After all, a real man never forgets his roots.
