Is Belal Muhammad From Palestine?
Belal Muhammad
UFC 304 turned out to be a historic day for Belal Muhammad. His unanimous decision win against Leon Edwards earned him his first UFC title. But that’s not all. Snatching the welterweight title from ‘Rocky’ also earned the fighter the moniker ‘Remember The Name’, a unique feat in the MMA promotion’s history.
Muhammad became the first fighter of Palestinian origin to win a UFC title. Although he was born and raised in Chicago, America, his parents hailed from Palestine.
After winning his bout against ‘Rocky,’ the 36-year-old dedicated his victory to Palestinians. He said, “This is for my people in Palestine. They’re fighting the real fight.”
It is quite evident that Muhammad praises his Palestinian origin. And why not? After all, a real man never forgets his roots.
How Much Did Belal Muhammad Earn For His UFC 304 Bout?
But gold is not the only thing that Muhammad will take home from UFC 304. The 36-year-old fighter will also receive his base salary of $80,000. Adding to that, his victory will have him take his fair share of PPV buys. Moreover, Edwards did not go empty-handed either. ‘Rocky’ will receive his base pay of $500,000.
Belal Muhammad’s last bout had him continue his winning streak. Now, he has won 10 consecutive bouts in the UFC. It will be interesting to see who ‘Remember The Name’ faces next in the UFC octagon. Will it be a title rematch with Leon Edwards, or will a new challenger come in? Whatsoever, the fight fans will be obliged to see the new champion step inside the MMA cage again!
