Team USA Attendance is EMBARRASSINGLY LOW wo Caitlin Clark! WNBA Stars TROLLED by Japanese Fan! | HO

Caitlin Clark speaks out on Olympics snub 'vindication' after rookie and WNBA All-Stars beat Team USA ahead of games in Paris | Daily Mail Online

You’re tuning into Black and White Sports on YouTube, the no-holds-barred truth on sports. The main event starts now. Alright, Black and White Sports supporters, we’ve got a couple of things coming out of the first Team USA Women’s game that happened recently. I didn’t watch it, but here’s what went down. A Japanese fan hilariously trolled the team with a Caitlin Clark sign. But more notably, we have the attendance figures for all the first-round women’s basketball games, and Team USA was dead last in attendance—not by just a fraction, but by an embarrassing margin.

After Caitlin Clark got snubbed, you have to wonder: do they want to grow women’s basketball in the USA? Do they want people to be excited? Do they want to grow it globally? Leaving Caitlin Clark off the team has clearly affected attendance. Let’s look at this: a Japanese basketball fan taunts Team USA with a Caitlin Clark sign. Nobody believed Team USA would lose to Japan, given the height advantage of players like Asia Wilson and Brittney Griner. The game was going to be a blowout regardless, but the trolling was hilarious.

Here’s the video from Carth Burke covering Team USA. The players saw the sign, found it funny, and pointed it out. The sign read, “You need Caitlin Clark to beat us.” Funny, right? But what’s not funny is the karma of USA vs. Japan’s lowest attendance. Seriously, the USA vs. Japan game had only 13,040 fans, over 8,000 below the average attendance for the first couple of days. Four games broke 20,000 in attendance, but the USA barely broke 13,000. Serbia and Puerto Rico had higher attendance than Team USA.

Fans let them have it over this. Many believe Caitlin Clark would have significantly boosted attendance. Comments highlighted how much people craved watching her play, and omitting her was seen as one of the dumbest USA team selection screw-ups of all time. People pointed out that she was the greatest scorer in college and would have made the games appointment television. Despite probably winning gold, the point is about growing the sport and making more money. Imagine the Team USA jersey sales with Caitlin Clark on the team.

It’s crazy that the USA game didn’t even reach average attendance. Many believed everyone would tune in regardless, but that didn’t happen. The WNBA without Caitlin Clark is right there in front of your face. This low attendance might be the average for US Women’s National Team Basketball now. If I were Adam Silver or NBC, I’d be reconsidering some decisions, especially after the recent debacle.

Tell me what you think. Nobody showed up, except one fan with a sign that read, “Y’all need Caitlin Clark.” Your attendance needed Caitlin Clark. Peace, I’m out. Till next time, thanks for watching the show. Be sure to like, comment, and subscribe. Be sure to tune in next time on Black and White Sports.
