‘DEATH OF THE ARTS’: Cam’Ron WARNS Black Artists About Sleeping With Erykah Badu.. (Crazy Details) | HO
Cam’Ron has sparked a whirlwind of conversation after issuing a strong warning to fellow Black artists about getting involved with singer Erykah Badu. Known for her mystical aura and her transformative influence on past partners, Badu’s relationships have often led to a shift in the public personas of many artists. Cam’Ron’s explosive remarks bring attention to the often-ignored, behind-the-scenes effects of personal entanglements in the music industry.
During the latest episode of his show with fellow rapper-turned-podcaster Mase, ‘It Is What It Is,’ Killa Cam explained why he would never ever think to date Badu if he had the opportunity.
The 48-year-old rapper made his confession as he and Mase discussed dating rumors involving Houston Texans rookie C.J. Stroud and Amber Rose, who has since denied dating the baller who is 18 years younger than her. Cam’ron also admitted that he is attracted to Rose because he likes “different” women, and of course, loves her voluptuous bottom.
Cam’ron’s admission of attraction to Amber Rose led Mase to ask him to rate, on a scale of how “bad” they are, his top 3: Amber Rose, Draya Michele, and Lori Harvey. As Cam goes about rating the women’s looks, he tells a story about Erykah Badu. He said, “I don’t know if I ever talked about [it] on the show before, but I told… What’s shawty name? André 3000‘s baby mom.”
Mase responded with Badu’s name and Cam continued, “Badu. You know, she’s a homie too, but I told n***as she can’t get nowhere near me with that p***y. Nowhere. That sh*t she be doing to n***as is crazy. N***as be regular until they f**k her. Then you start wearing turbans, yarmulkes, the tie-dye shirts. No, no, no.”
Mase began laughing and replied, “She got a n***a dressing like the ’60s.” Cam added, “Yeah, you got to chill.”
As a refresher, in November 1997, Erykah Badu welcomed a son named Seven Sirius Benjamin, now 25, with André Benjamin, professionally known as André 3000. In July 2004, Badu then welcomed a daughter named Puma Sabti Curry, now 19, with rapper Tracy Lynn Curry, better known as The D.O.C.
Then in February 2009, Badu welcomed a second daughter named Mars Merkaba, now 15, with rapper and producer Elpadaro F. Electronica Allah, also known as Jay Electronica.
Badu has previously addressed what Cam’ron has stated about her allure with men, something which she has suggested were “mystical powers.” Speaking with Tamron Hall during an interview on her self-titled show, Badu said, “You are keenly aware of the urban legend that men can’t look you in the eye without falling in love. Women too—and children and animals. … Any living, breathing thing. I think it’s indescribable. In the bedroom, that’s not where you’re gonna find it, because my magic doesn’t lie between my thighs, it lies between my ears.”
In a 2020 Rolling Stone interview, Badu also said, “There’s an urban legend that my p***y changes men.” Before this, rapper Common, who Badu was previously romantically linked to, also suggested she had some type of power in her womb, affecting her lovers.
In 2014, he told The Combat Jack Show, “Yeah, the ‘Badu Box’ is real. It can take you to another universe. But seriously that’s when you meet somebody that’s real special and you’re like, “Man, this woman got … she got something else man.’ It ain’t just the s3x. It ain’t just the looks. It’s like something that’s kind of like spirit-wise where you’re like, ‘This woman got something else.”
