Conor McGregor took part in a sparring session on Wednesday for the first time since breaking his toe back in June.
McGregor’s last UFC fight was his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.
The Irishman was set to make his highly-anticipated comeback against Michael Chandler earlier this year before injury forced him to pull out.
UFC CEO Dana White recently claimed that McGregor would be returning to the octagon in ‘early 2025’.
McGregor stepped up his preparations for his comeback on Wednesday, before sharing footage of his workout via Instagram alongside the caption: ‘First spar back, off we go again’.

However, that is not all that McGregor uploaded to social media on Wednesday night.
The 36-year-old later posted multiple videos of himself serving – and also consuming – drinks at a busy pub.
Wearing a shirt and tie, McGregor was seen dancing behind a bar before pouring liquor into a plastic glass.
Another video showed McGregor downing a drink, resulting in cheers from the crowd, before he grabbed a microphone and declared: ‘We are one, we are USA baby.’
Later on Wednesday, McGregor attended an event at a bar where he served drinks and danced
McGregor, 36, also sampled some of the booze himself as a large crowd of fans watched on
After the videos were made public on Instagram, hundreds of fans left comments.
One read: ‘Bros never fighting again’. Another fan wrote: ‘He’s stiff as a board!’
But a third comment was much more positive as it read: ‘Yes The Macs back! Let’s go champ’.
McGregor – who was promoting his Forged Irish Stout beverage in New York – also attended a charity event hosted by The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund on Wednesday.
The Relief Fund was established after 658 Cantor Fitzgerald employees died in the World Trade Center terrorist attacks on September 11 in 2001.
