Caitlin Clark continues to put her name in WNBA history books. She has now tied the rookie record for the most threes made by a first-year player after knocking down her fourth triple of the game against the Atlanta Dream on Monday.
Clark achieved the WNBA feat when she was driving up the court and went into the arc to confuse her defender in the fourth quarter.
She then stepped back into her shot, and the rest was history. Clark didn’t just knock down the shot against a Dream player. She made the bucket over Rhyne Howard.
The first-year star has been on a tear since the team returned from the WNBA’s break for the Summer Olympics. Indiana walked into this matchup against Atlanta, winning two of its last three games.

Clark spoke about tying the record against Rhyne Howard herself before the game. She mentioned that Howard had a great rookie season and thinks an achievement like this is “really cool.”
“I mean, it’s usually not something you’re aware of until it happens, I guess…rhyne had a really good rookie season…it’s really cool but I think it just comes with playing the game the right way.”
Heading into the game, Clark was averaging 17.9 points and 8.3 assists per game. She leads all rookies in both categories and leads the WNBA in average assists.
The rookie has helped the Fever secure a strong position to take their first postseason appearance since 2016. They currently hold the No. 7 seed in the WNBA rankings with a 13-16 record.
