Putting an end to months of speculation, Jennifer Lopez recently filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, confirming that everything was indeed not well between the duo. Now in the midst of this, Affleck’s ex-wife Jennifer Garner has also been brought in, with several sources suggesting a hint of animosity between the Marvel actress and the pop icon.

The sources though not confirmed at the moment, suggest that there is a major reason why Garner can never be on good terms with the Papi singer despite their shared connection.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez met for the first time on the sets of 2003’s Gigli. During the time, the pop icon was married to her second husband, Cris Judd. But after divorcing Judd in the same year, the duo made their relationship official, even getting engaged. But destiny had other intentions, and they called it quits in 2004, going their separate ways.

It was after this that Affleck fell in love with Jennifer Garner and got married in 2005. Currently, the duo is divorced and fully focused on the well-being of their three kids. But in the midst of his ongoing divorce with Lopez, several sources have brought Garner into the mix as well.

According to the Daily Mail, Garner reportedly feels that she’s been used as a pawn by Lopez to mend her marriage with Affleck. Her friends also feel that the Elektra actress shouldn’t bring herself into the middle of the situation, especially given her past with the Batman actor.

The source further adds that “In the end, Jen Garner always has Ben’s back, and although she does consider J.Lo a friend now, no one sees this blossoming further.”

On August 20, Jennifer Lopez officially filed for divorce, ending months of scrutiny as well as her marriage with Ben Affleck. Further, as reported by People, the actress has also filed to revert back to her original name, Jennifer Lynn Lopez, and has requested the authorities to drop Affleck from her surname.

The documents also revealed that the pop icon cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for her separation. It was also reported that the duo had no prenup in place. But despite this, Lopez and Affleck have opted not to pursue any spousal support. The pop icon filled out the divorce paperwork independently without any legal representation and listed 26th April as their separation date.

Marking that the duo has been living separately for the last 4 months. Further, adding fuel to the speculations that had been circulating, especially after she attended the Met Gala without the actor.
