Caitlin Clark’s Boyfriend Facing TMZ Accusation After Big News
Connor McCaffery, who these days has gained fame as the boyfriend of Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark, recently made a big career move. This was after news hit that the 26-year-old decided to leave his post as a team assistant for the Indiana Pacers in order to take on an assistant coaching role with Butler University.
Unsurprisingly, major news websites covered this significant development, which led to fans and pundits alike taking a closer look at McCaffery’s career path. One such outlet is TMZ, which specializes in breaking the biggest news in the entertainment industry.
The folks from TMZ, however, do not seem to believe that McCaffery’s recent career move was born purely out of his coaching talent.

“He’s a little nepo coach,” accused one of the TMZ reporters during a recent segment discussing Clark and McCaffery.
Harvey Levin, TMZ’s managing editor, then questioned the accusation, which led to somewhat of an explanation from another staffer.
“She’s the biggest female basketball star in the world,” said another reporter. “She can make that call. If this is LeBron James’ niece, we wouldn’t have a question that he got her the job.”
“It takes time for these coaches to get these jobs,” added a staffer. “Connor McCaffery’s kinda jumping to the front.”

What they also failed to mention in the segment is that Connor is also the son of Fran McCaffery, who has been the head coach of the men’s basketball team for the University of Iowa (Clark and Connor’s alma matter) for the past 14 years.
It is also worth noting that, Connor’s younger brother, Patrick McCaffery, recently transferred to Butler where he will be playing his final year of college eligibility this coming season. Their youngest brother, four-star forward Jack McCaffery, also committed to Butler in July 2024. Jack is currently a senior in high school and will join the Bulldogs next season, where he will be coached by big brother Connor.
