Cheryl Reeve & Team USA UNDER FIRE After Caitlin EXPOSED Everything! | HO

Caitlin Clark's absence from team USA could make Cheryl Reeve pay a high price

It looks like Cheryl Reeve and the Team USA selection committee might be facing some trouble. We need to head down to Phoenix. If you can promise me it will work out this time, I can say it was a positive experience tonight. It would be shortsighted of me not to acknowledge what a great game and environment it was—fun for everyone to watch. We still have work to do, but we know it’s going to be enjoyable. As two rookies experiencing this for the first time, it’s rare and great for us to be here. The fans are excited, and I’m thrilled to meet new people and enjoy the experience. Cheryl Reeve and the Team USA selection committee have a long month ahead of them. What we saw yesterday was a massacre; the WNBA team was clearly superior on the court. Whoever selected these women for Paris should be ashamed. Cheryl Reeve and others are making excuses for the poor performance, but let’s dive into it now. Tiffany Blackman recently caught up with Caitlyn Clark.

Caitlyn, you were able to increase defensive intensity in this quarter and get key stops. How did that impact your transition game?

Clark: “We responded well after using that early timeout in the third quarter. Turnovers are costing us, and if we manage the ball better, we’ll be in a better position. We did better on the overboards than expected.”

Clark scored 18 points, with nine in this quarter alone. Reports indicate the Team USA selection committee is under fire from WNBA fans after the All-Star game loss. While the 2024 WNBA All-Star Weekend was entertaining, it led to controversy for Team USA. Cheryl Reeve mentioned that adversity is part of the journey, acknowledging the hard work needed to achieve their goals. Drama surrounds Indiana Fever star Kelsey Clark’s absence from the team, and the WNBA victory highlighted other players deserving of a spot on the Team USA roster. Defensive struggles, particularly allowing over 60 points in the paint, were critical in their defeat.

Reeve: “We need to apply more pressure inside and perhaps stay big instead of going small. Analytics suggested going small, but we’ll review the game to see if that was the best choice.”

A fan pointed out that this isn’t a good look for the selection committee, including Don Staley and Cheryl Reeve. If Team USA doesn’t win gold, fans will be vocal about their dissatisfaction.

Clark: “I’ve always supported the WNBA, with Maya Moore as my favorite player. I watched as much as I could growing up.”

Cheryl Reeve made excuses for the loss, while the commissioner celebrated the league’s increased interest. Caitlyn Clark deserves praise for the rise in attention.

Reeve: “The momentum in women’s basketball has been building, and this team is part of that upward trajectory.”

As Team USA coach, Reeve must stop making excuses and focus on improving the team’s performance. The commissioner noted significant increases within the league, which she has every right to be ecstatic about.

Clark: “It’s great to be part of this growing league. We’re just scratching the surface, with expansion teams and new media rights deals helping the league grow.”

The USA experience was pivotal for Reeve’s career trajectory. She emphasized recognizing the team’s value in negotiations and the importance of holding their ground.

Reeve: “This rookie class, led by Caitlyn, drives media interest and business. We must take advantage of this momentum and envision the league’s future evolution.”
