MMA Fans Complain As Conor McGregor Fails To Bring Karate Stance In Latest Training Drill- “Too Slow”
Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor is hyping up his highly anticipated return to the UFC by sharing sparring videos on social media. He posted a couple of training videos, which have left fans excited about his comeback as he recovers from his toe injury. However, many fight fans have criticized his training method, demanding the return of his iconic karate stance and commenting on his speed.
Notably, McGregor hasn’t fought since he broke his tibia, leaving many fans eagerly anticipating his comeback. Recently, he stirred excitement with a training video showing his quick punching speed, followed by another clip of him throwing a 1-2 punch combination. However, some fans mocked him on X, saying he “looks slow.”
McGregor, who recently turned 36, was criticized by a fan who sarcastically called him ‘grandpa’ due to his age.
Fans have questioned whether McGregor is still fighting due to his extended hiatus from the octagon and injuries that have kept him out of training.
One fan expressed dissatisfaction with the Irish fighter’s boxing, noting that he used to employ a karate stance but is now using a boxing stance.
Having gained weight during his time away from training, McGregor has now lost some pounds as he prepares for his comeback. One fan observed this change and commented, “Looks skinny, Conor.”
Another fan expressed disappointment with McGregor’s boxing, noting that he used to throw more kicks but is now landing more punches. The fan commented, “Boxing killed his career.”
‘The Notorious’ is training for his return, but fans will have to wait longer with no official dates set. In addition to the backlash over his training videos, McGregor has also dealt with recent injuries and legal issues.
Conor McGregor’s Narrowly Avoids Jail Time
Conor McGregor narrowly avoided jail time in an Irish courtroom after a dangerous driving incident in March 2022. He was caught speeding and running a red light, nearly causing a collision. McGregor received a five-month suspended sentence, a €5,000 fine, and a two-year driving ban.
Judge David McHugh considered jail time, but McGregor’s legal team managed to avoid it. This isn’t McGregor’s first legal issue; he previously faced speeding charges in 2017 and 2018 and paid fines for those offenses.
He and his entourage were also filmed attacking a bus with objects like a hand dolly and a guard rail after a UFC media event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. McGregor continues to face challenges both inside and outside the octagon.
