Mike Tyson and Jake Paul are set to clash in Texas on November 15, four months after their original fight date

Former world champion Shawn Porter doubts Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will ever step into the ring.

Tyson and Paul were due to clash last month but the fight was pushed back until November 15 when the heavyweight legend suffered an ulcer flare-up. The rivals came face to face at a press conference last week with both men promising to knock the other out.

But Porter, who twice reigned as a welterweight world champion, doubts the YouTuber and boxing legend will ever climb through the ropes – despite the huge purses on offer, with Paul revealing he expects to earn as much as $40million from the eight-round contest.

“I hate to be the bearer of bad news, we’re not going to ever see Mike Tyson get in the ring with Jake Paul… I don’t call the shots, I just don’t think Mike’s getting in the ring,” Porter said on his podcast. “I just don’t see it happening. It didn’t make sense, to me, even from a business standpoint. I feel like Mike and Jake, even to the lowest common denominator, it didn’t make sense.”

Tyson himself, however, insists the fight will take place. “It’s happening, we’re all here,” he said. “I’m very prepared to knock out Jake Paul, I’m very prepared. I had a small adversity. I got sick, but I feel good. I’m just ready. I’m just ready. I’m going to do my talk and I’m going to talk my shit, but I’m ready to fight.
