He’s a douche – Oscar De La Hoya roasts Dana White: When a guy slaps his wife in public — when his mom writes a book about him saying that he’s a douche … | HO

The beef between Oscar De La Hoya and Dana White has simmered down, but any possible relationship feels beyond the point of repair.

Dana White: Oscar De La Hoya is a two-faced lying nut job - World Boxing News

De La Hoya and White have stayed in their respective sports lanes of boxing and mixed martial arts (MMA) for the entirety of their promoter careers. Well, for the most part. De La Hoya did make a failed attempt at branching out into MMA with a Golden Boy Promotions show headlined by the Tito Ortiz vs.

Chuck Liddell trilogy bout in 2018. It’s better we forget that one, though. Meanwhile, White has always teased a Zuffa Boxing side project but claimed it never got off the ground because of how much of a mess the sport is as a whole.

Recently asked about his relationship with White, De La Hoya didn’t have much venom to spew outside of highlighting other incidents.

Dana White on Oscar De La Hoya's comeback: 'Cocaine isn't cheap'

“We were [cool],” De La Hoya said on Club Shay Shay. “When I first thought of getting into the MMA [scene], I strongly feel that he just wanted to bury me. Not have competition.

He started talking about me. What does he talk about me? The coke and the panty-hoes? So what? 15 years ago? Like so what? That I don’t have friends and like … It’s absurd because literally, I don’t even think about it.

“We’re in different sports,” he continued. “He does his thing, I do my thing. Just because I wanted to start a little competition, he gets all (pounds chest), ‘Let me scream louder.’ I mean, when a guy slaps his wife in public — when his mom writes a book about him saying that he’s a douche … his own mom?! That’s all I have to say. I don’t have to say anything more.

“I don’t know why it started, I mean the promotional thing, but we were actually pretty cool. But anyway …” De La Hoya concluded.

In 2024, De La Hoya and White coincidentally find them working with similar parties, partnering with Riyadh Season to help promote upcoming events. That will likely be the extent of their business practices going forward.
