Chicago Sky forward Brianna Turner took a dig at a reporter on X who asked Connecticut Sun guard DiJonai Carrington about her incident involving Caitlin Clark. In Game 1 of the first-round series between the Sun and the Indiana Fever, Carrington accidentally poked Clark’s eye in the first quarter, which became a significant topic.

Experts have given their take, and there are a few who blamed Carrington’s actions. In an interview on Tuesday, Clark already downplayed the incident and told the media that she believes the incident was purely an accident. Carrington has also said that she didn’t intend to harm the star rookie during their matchup.

However, Carrington was interviewed on Tuesday about the incident. The reporter, Christine Brennan, directly asked the player if she intended to poke Clark’s eye. The Connecticut player laughed at the question and explained that she had no intention.

Brennan followed it up with another question. She asked if Carrington laughed with her teammate Marina Mabrey after the incident.

“No, I just told you I didn’t even know I hit her. I can’t laugh about something I didn’t know happened,” Carrington said.

After this interview, Turner shared her thoughts about the reporter, with whom she also has some history.

“I muted that reporter months ago. Not surprised at all to see their line of questioning disappointed but certainly not surprised,” Turner posted.

“Also wondering where they was at when I got hit in the eye and couldn’t return to the game 😭😂 did eye injuries not matter then?! (This is sarcasm).”

Fortunately, Clark’s eye injury didn’t turn out to be serious and she was able to play the rest of the game.

Brianna Turner played only 11 minutes on Sept. 8 when they played against the Dallas Wings. Turner had to return to the locker room as she suffered an eye injury. As the forward fought for the rebound during the third period, she was hit in the eye by Sevgi Uzun.

The forward had to leave the floor and return to the locker room. Luckily, she didn’t miss the following game, which was on Sept. 11 against the Washington Mystics. She shared photos of her eye injury on Instagram over the weekend.
