Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever Send Emotional Message to Fans After Playoff Loss
Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever issue heartfelt statement to fans have being eliminated for the postseason.
The Indiana Fever faced a tough 87-81 loss to the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday, ending their postseason run and bringing Caitlin Clark’s remarkable rookie season to a close.
Despite the setback, the Fever showcased resilience, fighting until the final buzzer. Trailing by nine entering the fourth quarter, Clark led the way with a standout 25-point performance, helping the team battle back to even take the lead. Unfortunately, they struggled to convert key shots down the stretch, ultimately falling short on the road.
There’s still much to celebrate, as the Fever are one of the youngest teams in the league and made the postseason for the first time since 2016. In the wake of their heartbreaking loss, Clark and her teammates shared heartfelt messages with their fans.
“Hey everybody, it’s Caitlin Clark. I just want to say thank you. It was such a fun season inside Gainbridge, certainly the best arena in the WNBA. We can’t wait for next year. You were all amazing and helped us win so many games, so we’re thankful for all of you,” Clark said.
“Thank you guys so much for coming out, showing up and showing out, all game every game.”

Caitlin Clark made a significant impact, earning the AP Rookie of the Year award and finishing fourth in MVP voting. Following the Olympics, she won back-to-back Player of the Week honors and was named Player of the Month.
Indiana Fever forward Aliyah Boston (7) celebrates with Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) after recording a triple-double on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024. The Indiana Fever defeated the Los Angeles Sparks, 93-86.
As the Fever look ahead to next season, they will undoubtedly be a team to watch. The expectations and energy surrounding this squad will be astronomical.
