Caitlin Clark proved right after A'ja Wilson validates bold WNBA verdict - The Mirror US

WNBA icon Rebecca Lobo isn’t shy about her feelings about Caitlin Clark. On Monday, Lobo heaped praise on Clark after the Indiana Fever set the all-time record for most points by a rookie.

It’s just the latest in Lobo’s praise for the 22-year-old, who, for her part, had an incredible debut season. So much so that some fans have noticed a trend about Lobo — one that supporters are now calling the Hall of Famer.

“Caitlin Clark broke Seimone Augustus’ rookie scoring record,” Lobo tweeted. “@MAVoepel asked her about it after the game. I loved her answer, including the description of the quality of the phone photos at the time.”

By the way, Lobo didn’t mention Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson, who reached an incredible milestone herself on Sunday. This came after the two-time WNBA MVP became the first player in league history to reach 1,000 points in a season.

Lobo’s alleged disregard for Wilson’s feat has turned some fans against the WNBA legend.

“Rebecca showed her bias again. Not a word about A’ja breaking the record or her heartfelt words. But Lobo showed his true self. And then disabled comments. You’re a lobo who only got where he is because ESPN wanted a white girl at the time,” one user commented.

“You are shameless and classless. This is why so many people think you are the 4th voter. Go fuck yourself and retire from broadcasting,” another responded.

“It’s getting clearer and clearer who voted in 4th place,” one WNBA fan responded.

As a few tweets above mentioned, Wilson received the fourth-place vote in the 2023 WNBA MVP race. While the Las Vegas center still won the trophy, many fans were outraged by the fact that there were three other players in the league who felt they deserved the MVP award more than Wilson last year.

After Lobo’s latest praise for Clark, some supporters believe they’ve finally figured out who the fourth-place voter really is.

Lobo went on ESPN’s “NBA Today” the next morning to heap praise on Wilson.

Even the best players have periods of the season where they struggle. Not A’ja Wilson. Her consistent greatness this season was one of many remarkable aspects of her MVP campaign. pic.twitter.com/Wo3fiesJCn
