New Orleans Pelicans star Dejounte Murray took a jab at WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes while responding to an Instagram post showcasing Caitlin Clark’s impressive list of records. Murray reacted to the Bleacher Report post by leaving a three-word comment.
“She’s not DOMINATING,” the 28-year-old Murray wrote while adding numerous laughing emojis to his comment.

Murray’s comment comes just days after Sheryl Swoopes had downplayed Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark’s historic season.
The three-time WNBA MVP, on the “Gil’s Arena” podcast, said about Clark’s unprecedented rookie numbers as impressive but added that the 22-year-old is “not dominating” the world’s top women’s basketball league.
“Those are hell of a numbers, but, to me, that’s not dominating,” Swoopes had said on the podcast.
Murray’s “she’s not dominating” comment on Clark’s stats was seemingly a direct jab at Swoopes’ earlier remark, where she claimed that the Fever rookie was “not dominating” despite her impressive performances.
Clark has made a lasting impact in her rookie season, consistently delivering spectacular performances. The 22-year-old former Iowa standout played all 40 regular season games, averaging 19.2 points on 41.7% shooting, including 34.4% from 3-point range. The one-time WNBA All-Star led the league in assists with 8.4 dimes per game while also contributing 5.7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Murray is preparing for his first season with the New Orleans Pelicans in 2024-25. The 28-year-old guard was acquired in a blockbuster trade from the Atlanta Hawks in June, adding his versatility to the Pelicans’ roster.
A few of Caitlin Clark’s remarkable records
In her debut WNBA season, Caitlin Clark set numerous milestones and broke records at an extraordinary pace.
Among her standout achievements, the Fever rookie topped the all-time list for most 25-point, 10-assist games in league history, recording three such performances in her first season.
The former Iowa superstar became the first rookie in WNBA history to record a triple-double and she did it twice. Clark recorded 14 double-double games and secured the record for most such game in a single season in franchise history.
Caitlin Clark knocked down 122 3-pointers, which is the most by a rookie in WNBA history. She fell six short of tying and seven shy of overhauling Sabrina Ionescu’s single-season record for most 3-pointers made in a season.
Following a standout performance in the regular season, Clark is now set to lead the Indiana Fever’s charge in the playoffs. With both form and confidence on her side, the rookie is well-positioned to make more history in her debut WNBA postseason.
