WNBA Legend Lisa Leslie Accused Of ‘Disrespectful’ Caitlin Clark Take

Both Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are having phenomenal WNBA rookie seasons, but there’s a clear leader in the Rookie of the Year race.

Clark is averaging 18 points and 8 assists per game while leading the Indiana Fever to a playoff spot. The Fever topped the Dallas Wings on Sunday to get above .500 on the season. The Sky, meanwhile, are 11-21.

But WNBA legend Lisa Leslie believes that both Clark and Reese should share the Rookie of the Year award.

“I don’t care what comparisons you make both @Reese10Angel and @CaitlinClark22 deserve the Rookie of the Year Award! The pressure and the weight of this season has forever changed the @WNBA and both rookies rose to the top and exceeded all our expectations! Take a bow ladies👏🏽👏🏽,” she wrote.

WNBA fans aren’t happy with that, though.

“Nah, this isn’t a consolation prize. May the best rookie win. That’s how it is meant to be, this isn’t particularly close but the media has really tried to portray it as such,” one fan wrote.

“Just disrespectful to what Clark is doing,” one fan added.

“Lisa, we have a lot of respect for you but let’s be serious for a second,” one fan added.

“… nah you be having good takes but this was a terrible one like really bad. You got one player that’s All WNBA first team and the other is a role player that bring no winning basketball to they team. Stop it,” one fan added.

Reese has been good, but Clark is on another level. It’s her award and hers alone.
