The American rapper’s popularity is skyrocketing thanks to young people copying her makeup style.

One of the world’s most famous rappers, Cardi B , is making waves in China. With her unique fashion sense and signature makeup style, she is setting a beauty trend for young people in the country of a billion people, with many people following her lead.

Cardi B’s popularity in China began to rise in 2020, after the artist praised Chinese culture and cuisine.

“Am I the only one who loves these Chinese ginger candies?” Cardi B wrote in a social media post in December 2020.

In 2023, Cardi B also attracted attention when she wore a dress by designer Peng Chen to the prestigious Met Gala fashion event.

According to SCMP, Cardi B’s makeup style is currently very popular and followed by Chinese netizens.

A 25-year-old beauty blogger named Nie (living in Shanghai, China) became famous for copying Cardi B’s makeup style. ” Today, I will try to imitate her pink look ,” Nie said in a Douyin video he shared with his 2.88 million followers on March 12.

Nie began the makeup tutorial by putting on two pink contact lenses. He then added pink eyebrows, eyeshadow, eyelashes, blush, and lipstick.

” Sisters, please rate me. I’m Cardi B ,” Nie told her followers in the video.

He then imitated the rapper’s dance moves to her song Like What (Freestyle). His video became so popular that Cardi B shared it on her personal account.

“He looks like Cardi B for real ,” one person commented upon watching the video.

“He’s the Chinese version of Cardi B ,” said another.

Many people have expressed their wonder how Cardi B would feel about seeing herself portrayed as a man.

Cardi B’s makeup style hasn’t changed much over time. The rapper favors thick lashes, bold nude lips, and sharp eyeliner.

Cardi B’s makeup artist Erika La’ Pearl revealed her prep routine for the rapper: “She uses makeup remover wipes before she starts anything because she wants to have clean skin. Then she applies moisturizer and a pore-blurring primer to make the foundation go on smoother and softer.”

For the next makeup steps, the makeup artist said the female rapper likes to apply heavy makeup to her eyes to make her face look more attractive.
