Easily one of the hottest men in Hollywood besides Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and Ryan Reynolds, Henry Cavill’s career has been a fairly hot topic as well. Though his recent projects Argylle and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare failed to fare as spectacularly as expected, he holds a ton of other star-studded roles to his name nonetheless.

If anything, comparing him to others like Pitt and Cruise, both of whom have led a thoroughly successful career so far, Cavill even holds an unbelievable feat that even this dynamic action duo has fallen behind in. This feat is having played 4 insanely popular characters of pop culture, with the credit for the latest one going to Reynolds all the way down.

Henry Cavill Has an Impressive Feat That Many Other A-Listers Lack

For a career that started at 19 with 2002’s The Count of Monte Cristo, Henry Cavill has truly come a long way. Like almost every aspiring actor in Hollywood, he has faced some downfalls along the way as well, with projects that failed to resonate as perfectly with the audiences as expected. And yet, his career has been as commendable of a journey as ever.

This stands especially true after considering some of the most popular roles that the 41-year-old actor has donned to date. As pointed out by @Itssan17 on X, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. actor has successfully “played four of the most iconic characters on screen” throughout his twenty-two-year-long tenure as an actor in the entertainment industry.

Previously, these included his fan-favorite roles as the Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher series, Superman in Man of Steel (and the projects that followed from the DCEU), and Sherlock Holmes in the Enola Holmes film series. And thanks to Ryan Reynolds, this list scored an addition with his latest portrayal of the Cavillrine, a variant of Wolverine, in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Ostensibly enough, all of these roles are some of the most famous roles in pop culture. While the gaming geeks love The Witcher to no end, the super-verse fans still yearn for Cavill as the Big Blue Boy Scout. Then there’s Sherlock, who never really escaped anyone’s mind, like, ever. As for Cavillrine, well, he may not have been known before, but he most certainly is a fan favorite now.

Comparing this track record with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, both of whom are widely dubbed as some of the best action genre figures of all time, fans will be in for some disappointment. Although both of them have led incredibly meritorious careers so far, their choice of roles hasn’t quite included characters popular in pop culture that come from comics, games, etc. to this extent.

Instead, Pitt and Cruise are more famous for playing original characters. Like Tom Cruise‘s forever fan-beloved Maverick in the Top Gun film series. Or pretty much every single one of Pitt’s characters, like John Smith in Mr. & Mrs. Smith and his upcoming role as Sonny Hayes in his much-anticipated movie F1.

That being said, even after undergoing critical box-office failures along the likes of Argylle and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Cavill has managed to outclass both of these 60+-year-old legends with this respective commendable feat. And, of course, Reynolds helped him out in this, so the credit goes to him, too!

Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr. Has Achieved This Feat As Well

While Cavill is one to be complimented for achieving such a commendable record even through his failures, he isn’t the only one. Standing right in front of him in the line is none other than fans’ forever-favorite, and one of the most successful actors of all time, Robert Downey Jr.

Besides his eternally embedded portrayal of the heartthrob Tony Stark aka Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, RDJ has also immaculately embodied Charlie Chaplin in Chaplin, and just like Cavill, perfectly played Sherlock Holmes in the titular film series as well.

Then there’s the latest addition to his list of star-studded roles, which includes his return to the MCU to become the new Doctor Doom, who is, unarguably, yet another insanely popular character in pop culture.

All of this being put out there, we might as well credit both Cavill and Downey Jr. for their exceptional achievements as two of the most fan-beloved actors of all time.
