Alex Pereira responds to Jake Paul’s call out for boxing match: ‘Let’s go!!’
Alex Pereira is the latest target of a Jake Paul call out, and the UFC light heavyweight champion appears up for a fight.
After Paul knocked out UFC veteran Mike Perry at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla., on Saturday, the YouTuber-turned-boxer turned his focus to his next potential challenges. With a fight against 58-year-old boxing legend Mike Tyson already on the books for Nov. 15, Paul called out arguably the most dangerous striker in the UFC today.

“Alex Pereira, you say you want to box,” Paul said during his in-cage interview with Ariel Helwani. “I’m the king of this. I’m the king of this. Come over. We can make it happen. I want you, Alex Pereira. … I just beat a BKFC champion. I’ve beat multiple UFC champions. He said he wants to box. So Alex Pereira, after Mike Tyson, let’s make it happen.”
While Paul was still in the ring giving post-fight remarks, Pereira quickly connected with Paul on a video call. The UFC champ shared his perspective of the call on Instagram with the caption, “Let’s go!! Chama.”
“Hey, let’s run it,” Paul said.
“Let’s go, my brother,” Pereira replied.
“Hey, will Dana (White) let you out (of your contract)?” Paul questioned. “Tell Dana. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. You light work.”
Paul, 27, has boxed former UFC champions Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley (twice), although both were notably past their prime as fighters. Pereira, 37, would not only be the largest UFC champion Paul would face, but also the youngest, and one who called for a title shot in a third division after knocking out Jiri Prochazka at UFC 303.
While, it’s unlikely the bout would come together considering the UFC’s restrictive contracts, Pereira seemed excited about the potential fight in his short video exchange with Paul.
