Belal Muhammad Believes Win Over Leon Edwards Will Put Him Right Behind UFC Legend Georges St-Pierre
Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad
Belal Muhammad, the #2-ranked welterweight contender, will get his long-awaited title shot against reigning champion Leon Edwards at UFC 304 this Saturday. The fighter with the moniker ‘Remember the Name’ is confident in his preparation and has predicted a victory, which he believes will place him second only to UFC legend Georges St-Pierre in the welterweight division’s history.
Muhammad has set ambitious goals, stating that he aims to retire as the greatest 170-pound fighter to ever compete in the UFC. While talking about MMA Fighting ‘Remember The Name’ said,
“My goal isn’t to be the champion, my goal is to be the best welterweight to ever do it, so for me to go out there and beat Leon, who beat [Kamaru] Usman twice, who everybody thought was the best welterweight to do it, then I’m ahead of him and I’m right underneath [Georges St-Pierre].”
“You give me Shavkat [Rakhmonov], you give me [Jack Della Maddalena], you give me Ian Garry, and then I walk through all of them, there’s nothing else. I’m just going to be cemented as the best to ever do it.”
‘Remember The Name’ thinks defeating ‘Rocky’ would position him just behind UFC legend Georges St-Pierre. The UFC 304 title fight between Muhammad and Edwards has sparked considerable excitement. The challenger aims to unseat the champion and solidify his status as one of the division’s all-time greats.
Georges St-Pierre’s Prediction for the Belal Muhammad vs. Leon Edwards Fight
Georges St-Pierre defeated some of the greatest welterweights and was a dominant force in the 170-pound division for years. Recently, GSP has weighed in on the upcoming title fight at UFC 304. The legendary fighter predicts that Edwards will retain his title, stating,
“I think Leon is better. I think Leon is champion because he’s better,” St-Pierre said on the Anik and Florian Podcast.
Co-op Live in Manchester, England, will host the upcoming PPV event. Belal Muhammad, who has patiently awaited his title shot, sees this as crucial. With UFC 304 approaching fast, anticipation builds for this main event, drawing everyone’s attention to the high-stakes showdown.
