Imagine putting in years of blood and sweat, working your way to the top, only to have the place you helped elevate, give you nothing in return once you’re out. It seems this is exactly the kind of situation ex-UFC star Dennis Bermudez is dealing with. After all the fights and making a name for himself in the octagon, many would think he would at least get some perks for being such a fighter at the biggest MMA promotion. Instead, he claims right after he retired, Dana White and Co. yanked away his free Fight Pass access, which seems a little wild from a billion-dollar company.

Recently, Bermudez sat down for an interview with KrazyKevMMA. The ex-UFC fighter revealed that after retiring in 2019 following his fight with Te Edwards, he tried to watch something on UFC Fight Pass a few days later. To his surprise, the system asked for login details and indicated that someone had revoked his free UFC subscription. He found it especially surprising, considering it’s only $6.

Bermudez said, “Dude, after I retired, they took the Fight Pass from me. Every fighter gets a free Fight Pass, right? So, a month or two after I retired, I went to use it because it’s not like I used it all the time. I tried to watch something and was like, ‘Wait, sign in? What the f**k is this?’”

Although Bermudez has experienced ups and downs in his career, no doubt expecting a free Fight Pass from a billion-dollar company isn’t asking for much. After all, fighters put their bodies on the line, representing the company and entertaining fans. While White and his team haven’t commented on it, this isn’t the first time something surprising has come out about the UFC.

Dana White and Co. Bar Payton Talbott From His Own UFC Events Over Missing Ticket

After UFC 303, Talbott opened up about how the promotion treats its fighters, revealing that the organization offers no special perks or rewards, regardless of a fighter’s status. Talbott pointed out that fighters can’t even watch their own fight cards without buying a ticket, which seems surprising for a company as huge as the UFC.

He said, “As soon as you’re done with your media obligations, you’re out.” Talbott noted that post-COVID, the UFC decided to cut VIP rooms for fighters, leaving them with no choice but to watch the rest of the event remotely.

Indeed, now that another surprising thing has come out from the UFC, it will be interesting to see if the biggest MMA promotion changes its approach and rewards fighters with some perks.
