Several UFC fighters have appeared in movies. Conor McGregor’s recent appearance as the primary antagonist in Road House was the most high-profile. Moreover, Georges St-Pierre and Kamaru Usman have appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

St-Pierre portrayed a secondary antagonist in Captain America: Winter Soldier and Falcon and the Winter Soldier. On the other hand, Usman portrayed a naval commander in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, a role he will likely reprise in future Black Panther films.

GSP Announces ‘The Cage,’ Streaming on Netflix

Georges St-Pierre has retired from the sport and thus has ample time for movies. Interestingly, ‘Rush’ recently revealed the release of an MMA-themed series with a star-studded MMA cast. The Canadian was speaking to Jim Norton and Matt Serra for UFC Unfiltered.

“There’s a big project coming out at the end of the year called the Cage. It’s a big production. A series of six episodes related to MMA. It’s a little bit like Entourage, but for MMA. It’s a fiction story, but they use real fighters in the series. I will be playing my own role, Jon Jones is there, Ciryl Gane is there, and a few other guys too. Yeah, it’s coming out at the end of the year,” said GSP.

The 43-year-old revealed that Netflix will stream the series globally. He also revealed that his character is similar to Apollo Creed from the Rocky film franchise. The series protagonist will train with St-Pierre in Canada before having his showdown in the USA. Nonetheless, GSP didn’t disclose the roles of Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane.
