“He’s Looking Very Sharp”- Coach John Kavanaugh Talks About Conor McGregor’s Return

John Kavanagh claims Conor McGregor is looking sharp in his training

Remember when Conor McGregor was the talk of the town? The double-champ who could do no wrong? Then life threw a curveball at him, and a leg break happened. Since that fateful night in July 2021, McGregor’s been more ghost than GOAT. But hold onto your hats because the winds of change are blowing.

Coach John Kavanagh, the mastermind behind SBG Ireland, recently revealed that he has been keeping a close eye on McGregor’s progress. He is not just watching; he’s actively involved in the Irishman’s training.

“Although we’re training remotely together at the moment, he’s stateside on I believe a Forged Irish Stout tour…But we’re still sending each other training videos, training plans. He’s got some training partners over there, and the footage I’m getting back, he shared some of it recently, he’s looking very sharp to me. If the date was in December, it would be a green light for me anyway,” said Kavanagh via Lucky Block.

Between brewery visits, McGregor’s been hitting the gym hard, as per Kavanagh, and the results seem impressive. Dana White recently threw cold water on the Irish star’s December return. He’s eyeing early 2025 for McGregor’s comeback.

Coach Kavanagh, ever the optimist, isn’t letting that dampen his spirits. He is ready to give the green light for a December fight. McGregor’s return is still shrouded in mystery. Will it be December? 2025? Or will he decide to become a full-time brewer? Only time will tell.

John Kavanagh Gives His Prediction For Conor McGregor Vs. Michael Chandler

Kavanagh has been in McGregor’s corner since day one. He’s seen the highs, the lows, and everything in between. Now, he’s dropping some serious hints about what we can expect in the McGregor vs. Chandler showdown.

The SBG head coach is painting a very sharp picture of Conor McGregor. Now, that’s a bold claim, considering the Irishman has been out of the game for more than three years and has potentially minimal training.

“I’d be surprised if it can go two rounds. I’d be surprised. He just hits too hard. He’s too sharp. Is there gonna be scrappiness and take-down stuff? Maybe. But every round starts on the feet, and his ability to get back there is underestimated. So I’d be surprised if we see two rounds,” said Kavanagh via Severe MMA.

Michael Chandler is no pushover. He’s got wrestling chops and heavy knockout power, which is evident from his brutal KO of Tony Ferguson. But he, too, has been waiting on ‘The Notorious’ for the past two years.
