Jake Paul’s manager on Jake Paul’s MMA debut: I think 2025 makes a lot of sense for that

In a recent interview with renowned sports journalist Ariel Helwani, Jake Paul’s manager, Nakisa Bidarian, provided insights into the timing of the YouTuber-turned-boxer’s potential transition to mixed martial arts.

Bidarian acknowledged that some fans have begun to doubt whether Jake Paul will ever step into the MMA arena, given the uncertainty surrounding his future plans. “There are some people who are starting to believe Jake will never fight in MMA,” he stated, recognizing the concerns of skeptical fans.

Initially, the announcement of Paul’s MMA aspirations had suggested a definitive timeline, with 2024 being the targeted year for his debut. However, Bidarian clarified that the plan has now shifted, saying, “Not 23, but maybe 24. We announced it early 23.”

Despite the changing timeline, Bidarian emphasized that Paul’s goal to compete in MMA remains unwavering. “His goal is to fight in MMA. Just everything needs to align for that to be the case,” he said.

Looking ahead, Bidarian suggested that 2025 could be a more realistic timeframe for Paul’s MMA debut. “I think 2025 makes a lot of sense for that,” he said, explaining that finding the right opponent is a crucial factor in the decision-making process.

Regarding potential opponents, Bidarian revealed that the team has had discussions with various fighters, including Nate Diaz and Tommy Fury. “We’ve talked to Nate Diaz multiple times. As you know, there’s hurdles to that. We’ve talked to Tommy Fury about doing a boxing rematch, and the winner, if Jake was to win, we would do a trilogy within PFL.”

Additionally, Bidarian mentioned the possibility of a fight with Mike Perry, stating, “And we’ll definitely talk to Mike Perry, depending on how this fight does.” However, the immediate focus remains on Paul’s upcoming boxing match on July 20th.

As Jake Paul continues to navigate the world of combat sports, his manager’s comments provide a glimpse into the evolving plans for the YouTuber’s potential foray into MMA. While the timeline remains fluid, it’s clear that Paul’s aspirations to compete in the sport are still firmly on the table.
