Leon Edwards Losses: Which Fighters Have Beaten ‘Rocky’?
Leon Edwards
It was back on December 19, 2015, when Leon Edwards last lost a bout in the UFC octagon. Ever since then, he recorded 12 victories and one no-contest result. Now, the fighter with the moniker ‘Rocky’ will be facing Belal Muhammad, who has a 9-win streak, at the UFC 304. And the matchup is really interesting, as whoever loses will end their winning streak.
Edwards has won 22 fights in his career. While he has lost three bouts, one match ended up as a no-contest after he unintendedly eye-poked Muhammad at UFC Fight Night: Edwards vs. Muhammad. His last loss came back against Kamaru Usman in the UFC on Fox: dos Anjos vs. Cowboy 2 fight card in 2015.
A Look Back At Leon Edwards Previous Losses
‘Rocky’ started off his MMA career with two consecutive victories in 2011. However, at Fight UK MMA: Fight UK 6 on February 5, 2012, he lost his first MMA fight against Delroy McDowell. He lost via disqualification after an illegal knee.
With multiple career milestones, Edwards’ time in the UFC is considered the best for any Jamaican-born fighter. He has the sixth-fastest finish in the history of UFC after he defeated Seth Baczynski in merely eight seconds. But his start in the Ultimate Fighting Championship wasn’t that memorable.
In his debut fight against Claudio Silva on November 8, 2014, ‘Rocky’ lost via a split decision after three rounds. However, Edwards bounced back strongly, winning his next two matches in 2015. But the winning streak did not last long, as he lost to Kamaru Usman in his light match that year.
Since then, ‘Rocky’ has not lost a single bout in the UFC octagon. However, things can change when Leon Edwards faces Belal Muhammad on July 27. Will he be able to continue his winning streak? Well, only time can tell that.
