“Likes To Beat Old Men” – Daniel Cormier Reignites Feud With Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor and Daniel Cormier
Former two-division UFC champion Daniel Cormier has once again stirred the pot in his ongoing feud with Conor McGre1gor. The retired fighter-turned-commentator took a jab at the Irish superstar during a recent podcast appearance, referencing McGregor’s infamous bar altercation from 2019. The MMA community now holds its collective breath for McGregor’s inevitable response.
Cormier, never one to mince words, was in the middle of playfully roasting UFC announcer Dan Hellie when he dropped the McGregor bombshell. This came after Hellie put McGregor on his list of people he wanted to drink with. The comment was a not-so-subtle nod to McGregor’s 2019 incident in a Dublin pub.
“I know where it’s going to take you. With a punch upside your head. You know Conor likes to beat old men [bursts out laughing]. Conor is going to beat Dan Hellie. Conor would beat you Hellie,” said Cormier during the UFC 305 morning weigh-in show.
The rivalry between Cormier and McGregor has been simmering for years, with both men taking shots at each other through various media channels. Their contrasting personalities and fighting styles have made for some entertaining verbal sparring matches outside the octagon.
Conor McGregor Insults Daniel Cormier For Being Fat
The Irish superstar previously had aimed at the former two-division champion Cormier. The incident started their now long-standing rivalry and sent shockwaves through the MMA community.
McGregor, known for his sharp tongue and provocative statements, seems to have a knack for getting under Cormier’s skin. Talking about commentating his fight, the ‘Notorious’ called ‘DC’ a ‘fat mess’ and accused him of being drunk on the job.
“Daniel Cormier is a fat mess. Getting into worse condition by the day. God bless him. Showing up drunk at media events the very day before he was in the booth calling my fight. Drunk at a media event? The day before being a commentator on the biggest fight in history,” said McGregor via Fighters Hype.
Meanwhile, Cormier, now retired from active competition and working as a commentator, has never been one to back down from a verbal sparring match. The McGregor-Cormier saga is far from over. Whether it leads to anything more than entertaining social media exchanges remains to be seen.
