Olympics And Jake Paul

The Paris Olympics 2024 is certainly coming to an end in a couple of days. But famous YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul now has his eyes set on the next edition scheduled in Los Angeles. The younger Paul, who has caused a stir in the boxing world by defeating several big-name fighters, recently opened up on his will to be part of Team USA and earn the prestigious gold at the biggest sporting extravaganza.

Recently, Paul was in Paris and talked to five-time Paris Olympic medalist swimmer Regan Smith and NBA star Thanasis Antetokounmpo. They discussed multiple things, ranging from Team USA’s performance at the ongoing quadrennial event to Michael Phelps’ disappointment with American swimmers.

Speaking on the BS W/ Jake Paul podcast, the YouTuber-turned-boxer claimed not to retire from boxing. Later on, he expressed his will to represent Team USA at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. He said,

“I’m sick and tired of waiting around, waiting for another gold for team USA. [I’m] not retiring. Like I just definitely probably just added a couple more years on my boxing career because of that. But Los Angeles, United States, sick as f**k… I’m just dropping bomb. Like Actually, I’m just gonna do it. Why not?…First gold medal – You’re mine brother.”

Having lost just one bout to Tommy Fury, the YouTuber-turned-boxer’s boxing CV is already great. If he somehow enters the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and wins a gold medal, it will certainly help his records even better.

Before 2028 Los Angeles Olympics Dream, Jake Paul Will Have To Face Mike Tyson

Although the YouTuber-turned-boxer is eying for Olympic gold, he will first have to lock horns with legendary Mike Tyson. It has been quite some time since Paul vs. Tyson has been teased. However, the former undisputed heavyweight champ’s constant troubles with health issues have delayed the bout.

While the initial date of the boxing match was July 20, 2024, it had to be postponed after Tyson caught up with an ulcer flare-up earlier in May. The much-anticipated bout is currently scheduled for November 15, 2024, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Moreover, the matchup will also mark Paul’s debut in the heavyweight division.

It will be interesting to see how Jake Paul performs when he faces the legendary Mike Tyson. After all, before dreaming of an Olympic gold, he will have to defeat the greatest boxers of all time to etch his name on the history books.
