“Tested More Than Twice”- Conor McGregor Gives Somber Reaction To Charles Oliveira-Michael Chandler Rematch
Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor, the UFC’s prodigal son, is back in the spotlight. But this time, he’s not throwing punches; he’s throwing opinions. “The Notorious’ recently shared his thoughts on the upcoming Charles Oliveira vs. Michael Chandler rematch. It’s a fight that’s got the whole MMA world buzzing.
McGregor seemed upset about the matchup and blamed the UFC for causing delays. He revealed that he was drug tested more than anyone in the sport yet struggled to get a date booked. Talking at the BKFC 66 press conference, ‘The Notorious’ vented out his frustrations.
“I’m the most tested athlete on the roster by more than twice the amount, maybe 13 times. I have been tested more than any of these athletes, yet I struggle to get a date… As for Chandler rematching Oliveira, I’m happy with it. It’s November, and maybe we can still do it after… I’m just a bit out of the loop,” said McGregor.
Conor McGregor had been eyeing a fight with Chandler for ages now. But now, the cancellation of this fight has been an eye-opener for him. The Irishman’s frustration was palpable as he was itching to return to the octagon.
‘The Notorious‘ insists he is ready to go. He’s been training hard and staying in shape. But the UFC seems to be playing hard to get. Plus, Conor McGregor is no longer just a fighter. He’s a promoter now, too, and a businessman as well. He’s got a lot going on, and maybe Chandler had no patience left to wait for that ‘red panty night.’
Conor McGregor Was Recently Spotted Serving Drinks At A Bar
‘The Notorious’ was recently spotted slinging drinks at a New Jersey watering hole. Talk about a career change! From throwing punches to pouring pints. McGregor’s impromptu bartending gig wasn’t just for kicks. He was promoting his Forged Irish Stout.
This little publicity stunt has set tongues wagging as fans are now wondering if McGregor’s fighting days are over. It has been over three years since McGregor last stepped into the octagon after His last fight ended with a nasty leg injury against Dustin Poirier.
Since then, it’s been a rollercoaster of comebacks and setbacks. He was supposed to fight Michael Chandler in June. But a broken toe put the kibosh on that plan. And now, he has no opponent in sight, as Chandler will rematch Charles Oliveira in November. Maybe the fight back in 2021 was the last that fans saw of Conor McGregor in the Octagon without even realizing it.
