Who Is Howie Booth and Why Was He Pulled From Judging UFC 305 Du Plessis Vs. Adesanya?
Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs.Tai Tuivasa and Howie Booth
Fans have witnessed numerous controversial scorecards in combat sports, but tonight at UFC 305, many are calling it the worst UFC scorecard of the year. A judging controversy erupted, prompting the removal of Judge Howie Booth from the ongoing PPV event. Due to his questionable scorecard decisions, Booth was pulled from scoring the remaining fights, including the highly anticipated bouts between Dricus du Plessis vs. Israel Adesanya and Kai Kara-France vs. Steve Erceg.
Jairzinho Rozenstruik emerged victorious against Tai Tuivasa via a split decision in the UFC 305 main card. Rozenstruik dominated the fight, nearly finishing Tuivasa in the second round. Notably, judge Howie Booth, founder of Powerbooth Training and Fitness Classes and a UFC judge, raised eyebrows with his scorecard, inexplicably awarding Tuivasa a 30-27 win.
Bruce Buffer announced the surprising score, which contradicted the visible outcome. However, Booth’s controversial judging resulted in his removal from the ongoing event.
Booth’s scorecard received criticism from the UFC broadcast team, with color commentator Jon Anik taking a shot at the judge. Booth was pulled from further judging during the Hooker vs. Gamrot fight. Fans will have to wait and see if UFC President Dana White addresses the issue during the UFC 305 post-fight press conference.
UFC 305: Kai Kara-France vs. Steve Erceg Result
After returning to the octagon after 15 months, Kai Kara-France showcased one of the best performances of his career, knocking out Steve Erceg in the first round at 4:04. This marks Erceg’s second consecutive loss in the UFC.
Meanwhile, Kara-France now has 12 first-round finishes. This win against Erceg could potentially lead to a title fight against the current flyweight champion, Alexandre Pantoja. Whether Kara-France will get a title shot remains to be seen.
