Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever nearly took down the Minnesota Lynx on Saturday.
The Lynx, at 22-8 on the season, are among the best teams in the WNBA. But the Fever have been playing really good basketball lately and nearly took down the Lynx on Saturday. Ultimately, Minnesota prevailed, winning 90-80.
But Clark had a big game. She scored 23 points, dished out eight assists and grabbed five rebounds in the loss. Following the game, Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve, who also coached Team USA, finally head something nice to say about Clark.
Reeve has previously taken some shots at Clark and the amount of attention that the WNBA is giving her.
Head Coach Cheryl Reeve of the Minnesota Lynx speaks to the media before round one game one of the 2023 WNBA Playoffs against the Connecticut Sun on September 13, 2023 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Reeve said: “I wish one of them (Caitlin or Maya Moore) was playing for us… either one. I’d take either.”
“The single best thing that she does…she plays with incredible pace,” Reeve added. “Pace can get you really far, and there’s great value in that. Pace and passing…it’s what makes her exceptional in my mind.”
