Reigning WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart and the New York Liberty are gearing up for a highly-anticipated matchup against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Saturday afternoon.

Stewart has been very complimentary of Clark ever since she burst onto the scene as a college basketball superstar with the Iowa Hawkeyes. And during a recent interview, Stewie reinforced that support with her honest thoughts on Clark’s game.

When asked to name the rookie that’s impressed her the most this season, Stewart didn’t hesitate to mention Clark.

“Caitlin, the way she’s coming and continuing to kinda get Indiana back where they were as far as their attendance,” Stewart said on Best of Both Worlds with Flau’jae Johnson. “You know she has range like no other.”

Here’s what Stewart had to say about Clark before she was selected by the Fever with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft:

“I think she’s a great player. I think it’ll be really exciting to see her go to the WNBA because a lot will translate,” Stewart said. “… The thing that’s going to translate the quickest and fastest for her is her shot making ability. She can make it from wherever. That doesn’t go away.”

Jun 30, 2024; Phoenix, Arizona, USA; Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) looks on during the first half of the game against the Phoenix Mercury at Footprint Center.

Clark and Stewart have faced off three times at the WNBA level. Stewie and the Liberty are 3-0 in those matchups.

Clark and the Fever will look to notch their first win over Stewart and the Liberty when they tipoff in Indianapolis at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday.
