Belal Muhammad Faces Backlash As Fans Defend Conor McGregor Over Brutal NFL Jab: “He Can Buy 100 Of Khabib”
Belal Muhammad and Conor McGregor
Belal Muhammad has been way more active on social media since snagging the title of welterweight. Recently, he decided to troll Conor McGregor for being MIA in the UFC and for his losing streak. McGregor hasn’t stepped into the octagon in over three years, but fans are still backing him up, even after Muhammad threw shade.
Not just Muhammad, but also UFC bantamweight champ Sean O’Malley also took shots at the former double champ. O’Malley used the start of the NFL season to remind fans of McGregor’s last win, agreeing with Muhammad’s tweet:
“I know everyone’s excited the NFL season starts tomorrow but don’t let it distract you from the fact that Conor mcgregor hasn’t won a fight In 4 years and he sucks.” However, a lot of fans pushed back against Muhammad, with one commenting, “You sucks badly he can buy 100 of kabib and belal.”
One fan slammed Muhammad hard, saying, “You will never be double champ or ever have the impact he had on the sport.”
A fan pointed out that Muhammad’s trash talk might be a way to avoid fighting Shavkat Rakhmanov.
Another fan mocked Muhammad, saying, “Using Conor McGregor’s name to get attention for your posts. Almost as boring as your fights.”
One fan commented that there’s no point in mocking McGregor.
‘Remember the Name’ faced heavy criticism from fans, and McGregor’s supporters have often bombarded critics with harsh feedback. Since defeating Leon Edwards at UFC 304, Muhammad has stayed in the spotlight and is now looking for his next fight, likely towards the end of the year.
Shavkat Rakhmonov Accuses Belal Muhammad Of Avoiding Their Fight
Additionally, during an appearance on MMA Fighting, Rakhmonov said that Muhammad declined the fight offer due to timing issues, adding:
“Yeah, actually I’ve already been offered to fight Belal [Muhammad], and I accepted the fight against Belal, but unfortunately he declined to fight me due to the timing issues. He wasn’t ready to defend his belt on that time. So, we’ll see what’s going to happen and when he’s going to be ready, so I’ll be able to fight him.”
The welterweight division is tense, with Kamaru Usman and Rakhmonov both vying for a title shot. Rakhmonov feels he’s more deserving than Usman.
