Angel Reese made history in the Chicago Sky’s loss to the Connecticut Sun on Friday night, but she also had one of the worst missed layups you’ll see in a professional basketball game.

Reese, the No. 7 pick from this year’s draft, recorded her second consecutive game with at least 20 rebounds. She became the first rookie to ever accomplish this feat.

Unfortunately for Reese, her historic achievement was overshadowed by a brutal sequence that happened in the first quarter of action.

The Sky had a three-on-one fastbreak opportunity against the Sun. Reese had a wide-open shot at the rim for Chicago, but ended up leaving it short.

As soon as Reese missed this layup for the Sky, fans rushed over to social media to mock her.

What makes this miss even more frustrating for Reese is the fact that Chicago only lost 82-80.

From a statistical standpoint, Reese has been excellent this year. She’s averaging 13.6 points and 12.6 rebounds per game.

The Sky, however, have really struggled of late. They’re currently 11-17 and are clinging onto eighth place in the standings.

Reese will try to lead the Sky to a much-needed victory this Sunday against the Las Vegas Aces.
