Before she attempts to add more Olympic medals to her massive collection, Simone Biles got another piece of silverware to put inside her trophy cabinet on Thursday.

The legendary USA gymnast was the recipient of the ESPY Best Comeback Performance of the year after her successful return to the sport in 2023, one which culminated in her earning a ticket back to the Olympics this 2024.

Biles had suffered from a mental block issue called twisties and took a hiatus following the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The 27-year-old gymnast, however, overcame the problem and swiftly returned to the top of USA gymnastics.

Sure enough, it’s a well-deserved honor for Biles after everything that she has gone through. Having said that, plenty of fans were moved after witnessing her latest achievement at the ESPN awards show.

“Simone Biles won best comeback athlete!! She truly deserves it, she’s an inspiration for all young girls. Her comeback was inspiring. Congrats Simone!” a fan said.

A supporter added, “Simone Biles winning best comeback athlete has me so emotional, she’s a trailblazer in every way in the sport.”

“Not anyone has deserved this more than Simone. Such an inspiration; and this should now only be for Simone (her Olympic journey) and no one else,” a commenter added.

“Simone is a role model for others – especially our young people,” another social media user noted.

An excited fan added, “The ONLY one who deserves this award!”
