Candace Owens, a well-known conservative commentator, recently sparked controversy once again, this time with comments suggesting that she married a white man because he matched her intellectual capabilities.

This statement, made during an appearance on “The Breakfast Club,” has led to widespread criticism and accusations of promoting anti-Black rhetoric.

During the interview, Charlamagne tha God, one of the hosts of “The Breakfast Club,” questioned Owens about her opinions on the Black family, especially given her marriage to a white man.

Owens responded by discussing her challenges in finding a partner who could intellectually challenge her, which she claimed was the reason she married her husband, George Farmer, who is white. She argued that people tend to marry those who match their IQ, rather than based on race, and cited her own relationship as an example.

This comment did not sit well with many viewers, who felt that Owens was implying that Black men were not intellectually compatible with her, and that white men were superior in this regard. Social media users were quick to call out Owens, accusing her of demeaning Black people and promoting harmful stereotypes.

The controversy surrounding Owens’ remarks is not an isolated incident. Over the years, Owens has made numerous statements that have been criticized as anti-Black.

For instance, she has previously claimed that Black Americans are the “most volatile” group in America by race, and has downplayed the impact of white supremacy on Black communities.

Additionally, she has been a vocal critic of the Black Lives Matter movement, labeling it as a “scam” and accusing it of promoting “Black anarchy.”

Owens’ comments about marrying a white man because of his intellect have only added fuel to the fire. Many people see this as another example of her pandering to a conservative, predominantly white audience by denigrating Black people.

Some have even suggested that Owens has made a career out of being the “Black spokesperson” for white people’s anti-Blackness, and that her latest remarks are just another example of this trend.

It’s also worth noting that Owens was not always aligned with conservative politics. In fact, she once ran a website that was highly critical of Republicans, conservatives, and even Donald Trump.

However, in 2017, she was hired by Turning Point USA, a conservative student organization, as their Director of Urban Engagement, a move that many believe marked her shift towards promoting right-wing ideologies.

Despite the backlash, Owens has continued to defend her comments, arguing that she married for intellectual compatibility, not race. However, for many, this explanation falls flat, as it seems to reinforce the idea that Black men are somehow intellectually inferior to white men.

Candace Owens’ recent remarks have reignited the debate over her controversial views and the role she plays in conservative media.

While some may agree with her perspective, many others see her comments as yet another example of the harmful rhetoric she has consistently promoted over the years.

As the debate continues, it remains to be seen how Owens will navigate the growing criticism and whether her latest comments will have any lasting impact on her career.
