Jake Paul may be a professional boxer now, but he hasn’t lost his penchant for pranks. Ahead of his fight against BKFC superstar Mike Perry, Paul took his mind games to the next level by prank-calling Perry, pretending to be a boxing journalist.

Paul, who was originally scheduled to fight Mike Tyson but had to reschedule due to Tyson’s health issues, is now set to face Perry in an 8-round cruiserweight bout. To get under Perry’s skin, Paul called him under the guise of Dan Rafael from ESPN, asking for a pre-fight interview.

“Hey, Mike. This is Dan Rafael from ESPN,” Paul said in a video posted to TikTok. “Malki [Perry’s manager] gave me your number for a big article we’re doing for ESPN. I just have two questions for you. The first is, do you have a prediction for what round or when you’re gonna end Jake Paul?”

Unaware that he was being pranked, Perry confidently responded, “I’d say the seventh round but I may be able to take him out sooner. He seems to think it’s short, but I think I’m gonna have a fun, long night…”

Paul then pushed further with a provocative question, leading to a heated exchange. Perry, realizing he was being pranked, responded angrily but kept his composure for the most part.

This pre-fight prank adds another layer of drama to an already anticipated fight. Paul, with a 9-1 record, has defeated notable opponents like Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, and Ben Askren. Perry, on the other hand, is 0-1 in professional boxing but boasts a 5-0 record in bare-knuckle boxing, having defeated former UFC champs Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez.

As the fight approaches, fans eagerly await to see if Paul’s pranks will rattle Perry or if “Platinum” will use it as motivation to hand Paul his second career loss. The fight promises to be an exciting clash of styles and personalities, adding to the ongoing saga of Jake Paul’s boxing journey.
