KSI, the YouTube sensation turned professional boxer, has set his sights on a revenge fight against boxing legend Floyd Mayweather. The motivation? To avenge the way Mayweather allegedly mistreated his younger brother Deji during their 2022 exhibition bout in Dubai.

In the 2022 exhibition match, Deji faced Mayweather under contentious circumstances. It was reported that Mayweather forced Deji to wear smaller 10oz gloves instead of the agreed-upon 14oz pair. Additionally, despite a verbal agreement to take it easy on the inexperienced Deji, Mayweather allegedly went full throttle during the fight.

KSI’s trainer, Alexis Demetriades, detailed the situation to SunSport, revealing that Deji was even instructed by someone from Mayweather’s camp to signal if things got too intense. However, when Deji tried to ask Mayweather to ease up, the response was far from what was expected. “At one point, Deji was like, ‘S***, it’s getting a little bit hot.’ And Mayweather was like, ‘F*** you. I’m Floyd Mayweather,’ and tried to kill him,” Demetriades recounted.

This incident has left a lasting impact on KSI, whose real name is JJ Olatunji. “That’s JJ’s little brother. So there’s animosity there, there’s an appetite for that fight for JJ, he thinks he’s a p***k,” Demetriades explained.

KSI is not looking for an exhibition bout like the ones Mayweather has been participating in since his retirement in 2017 after defeating Conor McGregor. Instead, KSI wants a legitimate fight to settle the score. “He’s going to try and kill him. There’s animosity there. It’s on sight. Like JJ wants to kill him. That’s a fight he wants,” Demetriades said emphatically.

Since his official retirement, Mayweather, now 47, has continued to fight in exhibition matches against a variety of opponents, including social media stars and MMA fighters. His exhibitions have included bouts with YouTuber Logan Paul and KSI’s brother Deji, as well as a forthcoming match against John Gotti III, grandson of the notorious mob boss, scheduled for August 24 in Mexico.

KSI himself is set to return to the ring on August 31 in a unique 2v1 handicap match against Anthony Taylor and Slim Albaher. Despite this unusual bout, KSI’s ultimate goal remains a confrontation with Mayweather, a fight he believes he can win. “It’s nuts, it’s crazy to say though, isn’t it? You’ve got a YouTuber that wants to fight Floyd Mayweather,” Demetriades remarked.

Demetriades conveyed confidence in KSI’s ability to face Mayweather, emphasizing the importance of understanding what constitutes a win. “It’s how you win it, of course. It’s understanding what a win is, wins don’t always mean knockouts. There’s tangibles, right? Logan’s fought Floyd, Deji’s fought Floyd. JJ’s been in the ring with both those guys, there’s a tangible.”

As KSI prepares for his upcoming fights, the possibility of a showdown with Mayweather looms large. With a personal vendetta fueling his motivation, KSI is determined to step into the ring with the boxing legend and settle the score once and for all.
