Mike Perry wants to hijack Mike Tyson fight from Jake Paul in new plan including UFC title shot at new weight

Mike Perry is set to derail Jake Paul’s ambitious plans, aiming to take his place in a highly anticipated fight against Mike Tyson and potentially secure a UFC title shot. ‘Platinum’ Perry has been drafted in to face Paul on July 20 following the postponement of Paul’s controversial clash with Tyson.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry is now scheduled for July 20 in Florida, live on DAZN PPV. Originally, Paul was set to fight Tyson on the same date, but the bout was pushed back to November 15 after Tyson suffered a medical issue that rendered him unfit to compete this summer.

Perry, a 5-0 bare-knuckle boxing champion and former UFC star, plans to stop Paul in his tracks and hijack his fight with Tyson. Speaking on Sean O’Malley’s YouTube channel, Perry expressed his confidence and ambition. “I might take the Mike Tyson fight from Jake,” Perry said. “I think I deserve it. If I win this fight, the sky’s the limit.”

Perry’s plan doesn’t stop with Tyson. He also aims to secure a shot at UFC gold, specifically targeting UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira. Despite Pereira’s interest in moving up to heavyweight to become the first three-weight title holder in UFC history, Perry remains undeterred.

Perry is adamant about proving himself against top-tier opponents. “When I beat up Jake, that’s the call out for me… I want to throw hands with Alex Pereira,” Perry declared. “He’s just clocking everybody left and right. I want to show that I’ve got skills in the hands department.”

Perry left the UFC in 2021 to pursue a career in bare-knuckle boxing with BKFC, where he has found success. However, his desire to return to the UFC and compete for a title remains strong. During his UFC tenure, Perry competed at welterweight, and although a direct shot at the 205-pound king is unlikely, his determination is unwavering.

For Jake Paul, the upcoming fight against Perry is crucial. Paul has made it clear that his long-term goal is to compete for a cruiserweight world title by the end of 2025. Defeating Perry and subsequently Tyson would be significant milestones on that journey.

The upcoming fight between Jake Paul and Mike Perry promises to be an intense showdown, with high stakes for both fighters. Perry’s ambition to hijack Paul’s plans and secure fights against legends like Mike Tyson and UFC champions like Alex Pereira adds another layer of excitement to the bout. As the boxing and MMA communities eagerly await July 20, all eyes will be on whether Perry can disrupt Paul’s trajectory and carve out a path to his own glory.
