Love does cost a thing.

Jennifer Lopez pulled the trigger by filing for divorce from Ben Affleck after two
years of marriage.

While fans saw their divorce coming a mile away following months of split rumors.
no one guessed they didn’t sign a prenuptial agreement when they decided to walk
down the aisle – not once, but twice – in 2022.

According to TMZ, Lopez, 55, filed the divorce papers in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
The same day as the two-year anniversary of their second wedding ceremony that
took place in Georgia.

While she didn’t signify if there was a prenup, sources told the outlet that the pair
didn’t sign one before saying, “I do.”

Without a prenup, all their earnings, profits, and assets they made during their
union are considered community property, and Lopez and Affleck, 52, have been
busy since becoming newlyweds.

For example, the Oscar-winning actor has starred in movies like “Air” and
“Hypnotic” since making Lopez his bride. He’s also produced “The Instigators” and
finished filming “The Accountant 2.”

He landed on Forbes’ 2023 list of the highest-paid actors with an estimated $38
million in earnings last year. “Air” alone grossed $90 million at the box office.
Lopez has been hustling, too. During their marriage, she was in “Shotgun Wedding,”
“The Mother,” “This Is Me … Now” and “Atlas.” Her estimated net worth in 2024 is a
whopping $400 million.

Let’s not forget about the $60 million house Lopez and Affleck bought as their
marital mansion last year. The duo put the 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom property that
was supposed to be their forever home on the market this summer.

Split speculation started in May when it was reported that Affleck had moved out of
their mansion and into a rental property. He has since purchased a $20.5 million
bachelor pad while Lopez went house hunting on her own.

They continued being photographed without one another on monumental
moments like Lopez’s 55th birthday and their second wedding anniversary, both in
July.

However, Lopez was recently spotted at Affleck’s rental home on his 52nd birthday
last week. The reunion didn’t last long because she ditched her ex and headed
straight to Bruno Mars’ concert, where she danced the night away without Affleck in
sight.

Adding insult to injury, Lopez filed for divorce on the two-year anniversary of their
second wedding ceremony that took place in Georgia.

She also listed the date of separation as April 26, 2024, meaning they haven’t been
a couple for nearly four months.

It’s surprising that Lopez and Affleck don’t have a prenup, considering they’ve been
divorced before. The split from Affleck marks the “Jenny From The Block” singer’s
fourth marriage that’s imploded.

Lopez was married to actor Ojani Noa from 2017-2018. She wed her backup dancer
Cris Judd in 2002, with the two divorcing the following year. Lopez’s third husband
was singer Marc Anthony, with whom she shares 16-year-old twins, Emme and Max.
They divorced in 2014 after 10 years of marriage.

Affleck was famously married to Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018. They have three
children together: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.
