Nikki Kidman left the Venice Film Festival after learning that her mother, Janelle Ann, died at the age of 84.

The famous actress, who won the Best Actress award for her role in Babygirl, went to the famous festival.

Halina Reijin, the director of Babygirl, accepted Nicole’s award and told the crowd why the 57-year-old star of The Perfect Couple left so quickly.

“I got to Venice today and soon after learned that my beautiful and brave mother Janelle had died,” Halina read from Nicole’s statement.

People gasped when they heard the bad news.

After reading what Nicole had said about her mother’s death, she said, “I’m shocked, and I need to go see my family. But this award is for her.”

It was her who shaped me, led me, and made me.

“I’m beyond grateful I get to say her name to all of you through Halina.”

“The collision of life and art is heartbreaking and my heart is broken,” she stated.

And to end her speech, Halina said, “We love you, Nicole.”

It was said by Nicole’s rep to People, “The family is heartbroken and asks for privacy at this time.”

“QUEERLY CRUSHING”

Nicole’s fans flooded X with condolences for the Big Little Lies star.

The news breaks my heart. It will be very sad to lose Nicole Kidman’s mother. One person wrote, “Sending warm thoughts and sympathy.”

One more person said, “That’s really heartbreaking!”

“Stay strong, Nicole!” Someone shared, and a third of them said, “Beautiful speech.”

A fifth person said, “Losing your mother is very hard; it shakes you to your core.”

Nicole said nice things about her mother in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2020.

At the time, the Eyes Wide Shut star said, “She’s given me the drive to achieve my goals because I’ve always wanted to please her.”

“It’s true that she made her own way, and she wanted her daughters to have the same chance.”

“Mum didn’t necessarily get the career that she wanted, but she was determined that her daughters would have opportunities that were equal.”

“That rescued me.” “And she gave me my life, along with my dad,” she said.
