The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had a number of important conversations after they found out Harry’s father was unwell.

Prince Harry and  his wife Meghan Markle reportedly shared a number of “emotional heart to hearts” after finding out King Charles had cancer, a source has said.

In Februrary, the King announced that he had been diagnosed with the disease after undergoing surgery in January.

After being made aware of his father’s health, Prince Harry did not hesitate to jump on a plane from his Monecito mansion to London to visit his father.

Although their meeting was less than an hour long, it seemed to be a turning point for Harry, who later made it clear that he would fly back to the UK and spend time with his father whenever he could.

However, when he returned to America after his first flying visit, an insider told OK! Magazine that the King’s diagnosis prompted some emotional chats to take place between Harry and Meghan regarding the prince’s relationship with his family.

The insider told OK! at the time: “Meghan doesn’t want anything to do with it and is keen to stay away from England, but Harry is of the opinion that he must repair the damage that has been caused.

“There have been plenty of emotional conversations and heart to hearts over the best way to handle the situation and move forward.

“Harry wants to put an end to the feud and regrets the way that things have turned out. There’s no plan B for Harry, patching things up with his family is the only option. It’s finally hit home how difficult it will be to repair the damage caused by the various swipes at his family over the years.”

Since the King’s diagnosis, rumours have been rife about whether the Duke of Sussex will make a return to the royal fold while his father continues treatment.

However, these rumours have been continuously shut down as Harry remains firmly settled in the US with his wife, 43, and their children Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3.

On recent visits back to his home country, the prince has also had to seek alternative accommodation away from royal residences, which has included staying with members of his late mother Princess Diana’s family, suggesting that tensions between Harry and the Royal Family remain high.

This was further cemented when Harry attended a Spencer family funeral last month and was seen keeping his distance from his brother Prince William, who was in the same room.

It is believed Harry and his family could next be in the UK at Christmas after he was sent an invitation by his uncle Charles Spencer.
