McALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Two McAllen musicians are suing Cardi B, and others, claiming that the group used a song of theirs without permission.

The lawsuit, which was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas on Wednesday, names Cardi B, OG Parker, DJ Swanqo, Atlantic Records, Celebrity Booking Agency and Warner Music Group as the defendants.

The plaintiffs, Joshua Fraustro and Miguel Aguilar, also known as Kemika1956, claim the group used one of their songs without permission. According to the lawsuit, Fraustro and Aguilar created the song “Greasy Frybread” in 2021, which was featured in the FX series “Rez Dogs.”

“Defendant Cardi B, along with other Defendants, has used the song in her new album without permission,” the lawsuit stated.

According to the lawsuit, the group infringed the copyright of the song by reproducing, distributing and publicly performing the work in Cardi B’s record “Enough (Miami).“

The document concludes by stating the Fraustro and Aguilar suffered “substantial damages,” including financial losses and irreparable harm to their artistic reputation and marketability.

Cardi B is a Grammy award-winning artist who was featured on Time’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2018. OG Parker is credited with producing hit songs like “Slippery” and “Walk It Talk It” by Migos.

Records list the demand as $50 million.

ValleyCentral reached out to Cardi B’s media team for comment on the lawsuit who did not immediately respond.

CARDI BDOESN’T WANNA RELY ON PARENTS …To Help Raise Her Kids

Cardi B isn’t shying away from her parenting duties even as a multi-millionaire — in fact, it sounds like she wants little to no help … including from her own parents.

In her recent Rolling Stone interview, Cardi revealed she isn’t too keen on relying on her folks for assistance in helping bring up her 2-year-old and 5-year-old, Wave and Kulture … whom she shares with her husband Offset.

Cardi says, “I had them kids. They came out of my p***y, not my mom’s. They mine.”

CB notes that her parents do, in fact, help out with the kids when they can — and apparently, Cardi is in the middle of looking for a nanny right now … as she juggles her own music career and other business ventures she’s got going on.

As for Offset … Cardi says he obviously helps out too, but points out that he’s been on tour himself — so, she’s been a little overwhelmed lately trying to juggle mom and rapper duties.

Cardi also says this of fans wanting her to engage more on social media … “Not only just your fans telling you that. You got to deal with what I’m dealing with now — motherhood — that nobody could solve for me.”

She adds, “No assistant could solve for me. No husband could solve for me. No label could solve for me. Nobody could solve what’s going on in my home, and what’s going on in my home is we have a shortage of my kids being taken care of. I got to solve it.”

Cardi is clearly a very hands-on mom … but now, we know just how challenging it is.
