Taylor Swift pregnancy rumours sparked by Travis Kelce podcast comment

Travis Kelce has sparked rumours of a Taylor Swift engagement — and possibly even a baby — after an off-the-cuff comment on his brother Jason’s podcast show, New Heights.

The Kansas City Chiefs football player was talking about US national basketball player Victor Wembanyama’s impressive height when things took a playful turn.

Travis joked that Wembanyama was a “lab-grown NBA player”, given that he was more than 7 feet (213cm) tall.

“You can’t tell me that dude wasn’t made in a f****** lab over there in France,” Travis said.

“Lab grown diamonds, lab grown NBA player.”

“It’s not far off, let’s be honest,” Jason said.

Then Travis quipped, as he casually took a sip of his drink: “Can’t wait till I f****** make one” — as in, help to “lab grow” a baby.

Jason, himself a retired NFL player, quickly jumped in to warn Travis not to fuel the fires of online speculation with such comments.

“Do not do that,” Jason laughed.

“Do not give any of these other conspiracy theorists anything else to latch onto, please,” he pleaded, knowing that “Swifties” latch onto such comments for any sign of an impending engagement or pregnancy.

Some Swifties did just that, racing to social media to speculate that Kelce and Swift were ready to settle down and make babies.

“That smirk when he said it,” one viewer said when the clip appeared on social media.

“Then the big drink and side-eye.”

“MAKE ONE OF WHAT TRAVIS?” asked another.

“Travis wants a baby with Taylor lol,” added a third.

But others urged caution and echoed Jason’s sentiment.

“You guys need to understand that they joke a lot in this podcast, pls don’t take it seriously,” one fan wrote.

Even the reference to lab-grown diamonds had fans speculating that Travis was planning to “put a ring on it” soon with Swift.

It’s not the first time engagement rumours have flown around the internet.

During the Super Bowl, which Swift attended, a Las Vegas jewellery store offered Travis a million-dollar ring to propose with after the Kansas City Chiefs won.

It didn’t happen — but Swifties took it as a strong indication that it wouldn’t be long before he popped the question.

There has been an astronomical amount of attention on their relationship since Swift started attending his NFL games last September.

“She’s definitely brought a lot of new faces to the game and it’s been fun to experience that,” he told N earlier this year.

“It’s fun seeing her enjoy the game of football, knowing it’s kind of new to her life.

“It’s been fun to kind of gather the Swifties into Chiefs Kingdom and open them up to the football world and the sports world.

“It’s been cool to just experience all that.”
